Who I am

Marketing with Jade is the freelance business of Jade, an independent marketing consultant based in Singapore. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data I collect through marketingwithjade.com, how I use it, and the choices you have. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” refer to Marketing with Jade.

Because I am based in Singapore, I handle personal data in line with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA). Where the law of your country gives you additional rights, such as the EU or UK GDPR, I respect those too.

What personal data I collect

  • Contact form: your name, email address, company, your role (the “I am a…” field) and your message.
  • Emails and calls: anything you send me directly, such as your email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry.
  • Technical data: your IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. This is collected automatically through server logs and, if you consent, through analytics cookies.
  • Cookie choices: a small cookie that records the cookie preferences you selected.
  • Comments: if commenting is enabled on a page and you leave a comment, I collect your name, email address, website (if provided), your comment and your IP address, to display it and prevent spam.

How I use your personal data

  • To reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to prepare proposals and deliver services.
  • To keep the website secure and prevent spam and abuse.
  • To understand how the website is used and to improve it (with your consent where cookies are involved).
  • To measure the performance of my own marketing (with your consent).
  • To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.

I do not sell your personal data.

Cookies and similar technologies

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, accept essential cookies only, or modify your settings. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of this website. Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie called mwj_consent for up to 180 days.

  • Strictly necessary: required for the website to work, such as security and remembering your cookie choice. These are always on.
  • Preferences: remember your settings so the website can give you a more personalised experience.
  • Analytics: help me understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are viewed most, so I can improve it.
  • Marketing: used to measure how my campaigns perform and to deliver relevant advertising.

Analytics and marketing cookies only run after you consent. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the website may not work properly.

Analytics and tag management

If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, I may use tools such as Google Tag Manager (including server-side tagging) and Google Analytics to measure visits and campaign performance. These providers may process data such as your IP address, device identifiers and the pages you view on my behalf. These tools are configured to respect your cookie choices.

Who I share your data with

I share personal data only with service providers who help me run the website and my business, and only as needed:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure: Hostinger, which hosts this website.
  • Email: Google (Gmail), which receives the emails generated by the contact form.
  • Analytics and tag management: Google, if you accept the relevant cookies.

I may also disclose personal data where required by law or to protect legal rights. I do not sell or rent your personal data.

Transfers outside Singapore

My service providers may store or process data in countries outside Singapore. Where this happens, I take reasonable steps to make sure your personal data receives a standard of protection comparable to that under Singapore’s PDPA.

How long I keep your data

  • Contact form enquiries and related emails: kept for as long as needed to respond and manage our relationship, and generally deleted after 24 months without further contact.
  • Client records: kept for as long as needed for the engagement and as required for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Analytics data: kept according to the retention settings of the analytics tools I use.
  • Cookie preference cookie: up to 180 days.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your personal data, such as using HTTPS, limiting access, and choosing reputable providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

You may:

  • ask to access the personal data I hold about you;
  • ask me to correct it;
  • withdraw your consent to my use of it, including your cookie consent, at any time;
  • ask me to delete it, or to restrict or stop using it, where the law allows.

If you are in the EU or UK, you may also have the right to data portability, the right to object to processing, and the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Singapore, you can contact the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).

Children

This website is not aimed at children under 18, and I do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent me personal data, please contact me and I will delete it.

This website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn. I am not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
